Build 15 25 October 2026
Snappier, and talk about the plan
The whole app moves now: every tap answers with a little spring and a buzz, and pulling down the feed brings up the sun. And every planned session has its own comments, for the lift, the leash and the “running 10 late”.
BeforeScreens just swapped, + New opened a menu before the real screen, and sorting out lifts meant the group chat.
NowPlan a session and Check in now pop straight out of + New, sessions and photos zoom open, and an Epic check-in throws confetti. Open a plan and comment, or tap a quick reply like “Can I grab a lift?”. Only your crew sees it.
Screens: the two choices popping out of the + New button, and comments on Jess’s plan for Point Addis about lifts and a spare leash.

Build 13 24 October 2026
Throw a shaka, say something
Every check-in in the feed now takes a shaka and comments, so the crew can answer “Six foot and glassy” without leaving the app.
BeforeA check-in went up and the replies happened in the group chat, if they happened at all.
NowTap Shaka, or open Comments and pick “Save me one!”, “On my way” or type your own. You get a ping when someone answers yours, with its own switch in Settings.
Screens: check-ins in the feed with Shaka and Comment buttons, and the comments on Jess’s Epic check-in at Bells Beach.

Build 11 24 October 2026
On my way, at the beach
On the morning of a planned surf, tap On my way. The first one there checks in, and the whole crew sees what it’s like before they paddle out.
Before“Where are you?” texts from the car park.
NowThe session shows who’s on the way and who’s at the beach. Checking in there marks you as arrived.
Screens: a session at Bells Beach that’s on, with Kai at the beach and the rest of the crew on the way.

Got a better idea? Suggest it
Anyone in the crew can suggest another spot or time for a planned session. The others say they’re keen, and the planner changes the plan in one tap.
BeforeThe plan was the plan. Moving it meant a new session and everyone answering again.
NowIdeas sit on the session with a keen count. When the plan changes, everyone who answered gets a ping.
Screens: suggesting Point Addis tomorrow at 6am instead, with the forecast for that time, and the planner’s Change the plan screen.

Build 11 24 October 2026
Fix your check-in
Posted Fair and then it turned on? Edit your check-in while it’s still live: the rating, size, wind, crowd and your note.
BeforeA check-in was set in stone. Wrong call, wrong forever.
NowEdited check-ins say so. Bump it up to Epic and the crew gets one “Now Epic” ping.
Screen: editing a check-in at Winkipop, changing the rating, size, wind and crowd.

Build 11 24 October 2026
Your crew’s logbook
Every rated session now lands in the crew log on your crew’s page: the crew’s average, the most surfed spot, the best day, and how many you were there for.
BeforePast sessions faded from the feed after a few days.
NowScroll back month by month and open any session to see its rating, photos and who surfed.
Screens: the Torquay Crew log with a 3.6 crew average and sessions by month, and a past session at Point Addis rated 4.7.

Build 9 12 October 2026
How was it?
After a planned surf, everyone in the crew rates it from 1 to 5 and adds their photos. The session stays in the feed under Earlier, so you can see which mornings were worth the alarm.
BeforeOnce a planned session was over it dropped out of the feed. How it went lived in the group chat, if anywhere.
NowRate it from 1 (don’t bother) to 5 (call in sick) and add up to 6 photos each, for 3 days after the start. The card shows the crew’s score.
Screens: rating a session at 13th Beach 4 out of 5 with the crew’s photos, and the feed’s Earlier list with past sessions and their scores.

Build 9 12 October 2026
See the tide, not just a number
The forecast on a planned session now draws the tide over the hours around it, with a dot where the tide will be when you paddle out.
BeforeA height, “rising” or “falling”, and a list of tide times to work out yourself.
NowOne glance shows whether it’s filling in or draining out, and when the next high or low comes.
Screen: the forecast for a dawn surf at Point Addis, with the tide drawn as a curve and the low at 8:48am.

Build 8 9 October 2026
Your phone tells you when the crew’s going
Push notifications. A ping when a mate plans a surf, when someone answers yours, when the crew checks in Good or Epic, and an hour before you paddle out.
BeforeYou only found out a mate was surfing if you happened to open the app.
NowFour kinds of ping, each with its own switch in Settings. Never about your own posts, never from someone you blocked.
Screens: a Surf Crew notification on the lock screen, and the four notification switches in Settings.

Build 7 3 October 2026
I’m in, Maybe or Out
Every planned session now has three answers, so the planner can tell a maybe from a no.
BeforeOnly an “I’m in” button. Everyone else showed as nothing.
NowTap In, Maybe or Out and change it any time. Cards read “2 in · 1 maybe”.
Screens: a planned session with I’m in, Maybe and Out buttons, and a feed card showing who is in.

Build 7 3 October 2026
Swell and tide at every spot
Torquay Point, Jan Juc and the other town-side spots now get the full forecast, like Point Addis always did. And the feed scrolls all the way to the last report.
BeforePlanning at Torquay or Jan Juc showed no swell and no tide. The last report hid behind the tab bar.
NowThe forecast finds the nearest place with swell and tide data on its own. The last report sits fully in view.
Screen: the feed scrolled to the bottom, with the last report fully visible.
